Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Casey Urschel moved to New Orleans in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from the University of Kentucky, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisville.
In New Orleans, he accepted a job with Humana, and took part in their Sales Leadership Academy. In his 5 years with Humana, Casey worked with hundreds of health insurance agents across the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, helping to market, promote, and educate the community about their offerings.
After 5 years in the industry, Casey began to notice opportunities to better serve the market, and in late 2019 he left Humana to start his own health insurance and benefits consulting business, Uptown Benefits. At Uptown Benefits, Casey focuses on service, compliance, and providing strategic advice to match the needs of his clients.
In his free time, Casey is an avid runner, and recently served as President of the New Orleans Track Club. He has completed over 100 ultramarathon races, and can most often be found running around Audubon Park. He is also the President of the New Orleans Chapter of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. Casey is also the co-owner and co-Race Director of Lazy Hound Racing, a full service event production and race timing company, as well as the New Orleans Ultramarathon.
Casey serves on the board of the Gulf South LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and is an Ambassador with the Orleans Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the New Orleans Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, and is the Vice President for the 2nd District Police Community Action Board.
He lives Uptown with his wife Angela and hound mix, Merle.
